November 13th, 2002, I met my wife at the Tavern for the first time. I had a cabernet, she a Mike's with Chambord. As we were having our salads, she reached over and stole my croutons. Our fate was sealed. We were married out in Mansfield at another restaurant which has since closed, so we now celebrate our anniversary every year at the Tavern. The food is great and the prices reasonable. If you are fortunate to get a window seat you can look out over Turnpike Lake. We also like to go to the breakfast buffet on Sunday mornings. You could just stop with the buffet, but they also have an omelet station, belgian waffles, and they offer soups to order. A great deal and great food.
